Overview: Ten Thousand Suns

The 24th Biennale of Sydney runs from March 9 – June 10, 2024, titled "Ten Thousand Suns" and curated by Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero. This edition celebrates joy, celebration, and artistic resistance, bringing together 88 artists and collectives from 47 countries across Sydney's premier cultural venues. Admission is completely free to all exhibitions, making this world-class contemporary art experience accessible to everyone.

Venue Locations & Hours

The Biennale is distributed across five major Sydney cultural institutions, each offering distinct spatial experiences and artistic contexts. All venues feature the same diverse range of artists and curatorial themes.

Art Gallery of NSW

Location: Art Gallery Road, The Domain, Sydney NSW 2000

Hours: Daily 10am–5pm (Wednesday 10am–9pm)

Sydney's leading art museum presents major works in its distinguished galleries. The AGNSW serves as an anchor venue with extensive exhibition space across multiple levels. Free guided tours available daily at 11am and 2pm.

Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA)

Location: 150 George Street, Circular Quay, Sydney NSW 2000

Hours: Daily 10am–5pm (Thursday 10am–9pm)

Positioned at Circular Quay overlooking Sydney Harbour, the MCA offers contemporary-focused programming and spectacular waterfront views. Café and restaurant on-site. The venue's modern architecture complements cutting-edge contemporary artworks.

Artspace

Location: 43 Cowper Street, Woolloomooloo, Sydney NSW 2000

Hours: Wednesday–Sunday 12pm–6pm

UNSW Galleries

Location: UNSW Sydney, Kensington, Sydney NSW 2000

Chau Chak Wing Museum

Location: University of Sydney, Camperdown, Sydney NSW 2000

Hours: Monday–Friday 10am–5pm, Saturday–Sunday 11am–4pm
