Art fairs, 2027.

Art fairs and biennales share a calendar and much of an audience, but they are different instruments. A biennale is a curated exhibition, staged every two years over several months, built around a theme and a director's argument. A fair is a marketplace. Galleries rent booths, bring work for sale, and the doors close after four or five days. What a fair lacks in duration it makes up for in density: hundreds of galleries, thousands of works, and most of the collectors, curators and advisers who matter, gathered under one roof for a long weekend. The year follows a well-worn route. It opens in Singapore and Mexico City, turns to Hong Kong in March, and peaks in Basel in June, when the flagship fair and its satellites set the tone for the market. After the summer pause, Seoul and New York reopen the season in September, Frieze takes over London in October, and Paris follows days later at the Grand Palais. Shanghai and Abu Dhabi fill November, and Miami Beach closes the year in early December. The calendar below tracks every major edition through 2027, with dates marked as confirmed only once the fair has published them.

The list runs from November 2026 to the end of 2027. 30 fairs have published dates; the rest are marked Expected with the month they normally hold, until organizers confirm. Checked October 1, 2026.
